Pressing of thermosets: B&P Products is your partner

Experienced experts custom plastic pressing

Why opt for pressing?

Plastic pressing: our expertise and experience

From the very start of our business, we’ve been highly skilled at pressing products from thermosets. We have several pressing machines in our workshop. So there is certainly no shortage of expertise and skills with us!

Some products are better suited for manual pressing. We choose this method when the technical requirements of a product specifically call for it. Think of parts that require a specific strength or dimensional stability. Pressing is also often the best option if you have a small run. Do you need large quantities of your part? We can also automate our pressing production.

Development and production

Everything starts with the raw material

We use the same products for pressing products as for injection moulding:

  • phenol (Bakelite)
  • epoxy
  • polyester SMC
  • polyester BMC
  • polyester granulate
  • silicone
  • melamine
  • urea
  • DAP

The choice of raw material entirely depends on the visual and technical requirements of the final product.

Hot pressing

How does pressing work?

Once we have determined the most suitable raw material, it is manually fed into a hot mould. It has a temperature between 130 °C and 200 °C, depending on the material. We only use hot pressing at B&P Products.

This mould is then closed under pressure and the plastic is cured using a catalyst. After the part is fully cured, we can do some post-processing if required and drill, assemble or paint the product.
